May 24, 2024

At the September 2023 Board of Regents meeting, the Board approved the permanent adoption of the . This technical amendment deleted the requirement that any arts course for which credit is awarded to meet the one credit requirement for graduation must follow a state or locally developed or adopted syllabus approved by the Commissioner. The amendment did not result in any change in current policy. DDP remains an approved course to meet the one unit of art/music credit requirement for graduation for all students. Only teachers certified in technology education or art education may provide instruction in DDP used to meet the one unit of art/music credit requirement for graduation. The DDP syllabus is available on the DDP webpage as a content guide to use as a framework for instructional approach and context.
